Consults for a Cause: April 2021 ArtsWestchester Artist Relief Fund
If you live in Westchester County, chances are you know ArtsWestchester. You may not know that much about them, but ever been to any of Westchester’s 116 art galleries?
Maybe you snapped up a BOGO gift card offer to the Westchester Center of the Performing Arts for some post-COVID culture? (offer open til 5/31!) Perhaps their Virtual Event Calendar has kept you and your family grounded this past year.
Ever have any connection to any one of these 100 local educational, art or cultural organizations? Then yes, your experience was enhanced, perhaps even made possible by ArtsWestchester.
With very humble beginnings in 1965, ArtsWestchester is NYS’s largest non-profit cultural services organization. 20+ years already in downtown White Plains’ storied People’s Savings Bank.
Simply, they support art. The people who make it, and the infrastructure needed to make and share it. This is why TRH is so pleased to make ArtsWestchester, specifically their Artist Relief Fund-April’s Consults for a Cause recipient.
Artists have been hit pretty hard by COVID fallout. Donations to this program fund $500 grants to local artists to help cushion the economic blow. TRH’s redirection of consult fees will fund 3 of these grants.
Consults for a Cause is TRH’s ongoing program. Simply, we redirect 8 hours of consult fees to a local 501c3 charity. Clients write a check to the charity instead of TRH; the charity acknowledges their gift for tax purposes.
Many many thanks to Ann Marie Damashek of COMPASS real estate, The Lewerenz, and the Fieldman-Mongomery families. Also, Sally Wacks of Houlihan Lawrence Real Estate and Mary Case Friedner of Corcoran Legends Realty Group. In March their consult fees contributed $1460 to help further the good works of Family Services of Westchester.
If art makes you happy, there are all sorts of ways to support this wonderful organization. Besides redirecting your design or staging consult fee or making a direct donation-just participate! ArtsWestchester would love for you to join an online workshop, catch an exhibit online, subscribe to their newsletter, or attend their upcoming show Together ap ART: Creating During Covid.
